Artist Statement: When I create, I’m drawn to objects that feel like they have lived a full life…tattered edges of worn out books, scuffed-up and taped board game boxes, rusty typewriters, and old cameras that captured moments and memories. These things might seem outdated and worn out, but to me, they’re full of stories, memories, and meaning. In my work I breathe new life into those objects with bold, messy brushstrokes, showing how imperfections can be beautiful. Just like those objects, we all have a place, no matter how rough or messy life feels. Every piece I make is a reminder that there is beauty in the worn and imperfect…and that we all have a place.
